This collection of recommended studies was created as a tool for leaders who want help in choosing the next study for their group. These studies have been reviewed by staff members and have been helpful for LifeGroups in the past.

You can search through them based on type of group, length of study, topic of study, format, and amount of homework as well as title and author. Remember when choosing your study, there is no perfect study that will fit everyone’s needs or desires, so just do your best in choosing a study and trust God with the results.

Search results will be displayed alphabetically, so you may need to browse through several pages to find the study you want for your group.

1 John (Explore the Bible)
BY: Explore the Bible

1 John Bible Study Book offers a six-session study that will equip you and/or your group members to discern between truth and error, light and darkness, and assurance and doubt.

In an age of sinful pleasures, as well as sophisticated justifications for indulging those pleasures, 1 John commends a living, practical faith that strengthens followers of Jesus Christ to overcome temptation by love—love for God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and love for neighbors.

In this letter, the "beloved disciple" John provides definition and practical clarity about love, faith, and truth, having received his understanding directly from the Word of life Himself. Rather than seeking novelty, John challenges his readers to trust the same message we’ve heard from the beginning. 1 John explores this message and helps us apply its truths to our lives in a way that bolsters our trust and joy in the God who is Spirit, light, and love.

1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ
BY: Jen Wilkin

Our inheritance through Christ is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. In 1 Peter, a man of faith and flaws and eyewitness to the life of Christ challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. He shares his concerns on big picture issues for the early church, describes believers' true identity in Christ, and ultimately helps readers discover what it means to experience the Living Hope they have in Christ. Key themes of humility, submission, and identity in Christ guide the study of 1 Peter as participants are challenged to read the book in its entirety each week. (9 sessions)

The DVD for this study is available to check out from the Forest Hill Church resource center on the South Park campus.
